AoA Sound Detector

Real Time OS on Single Core

The AoA sound detection project was about solving complex computations on resource-constrained hardware and processing signal noise from each microphone due to the wire length differences.

Real Time OS on Single Core

Real Time OS on Single Core

Written in C and Assembly; a simple RTOS was written from scratch with functionality of shell interfaces, priority scheduler, mutex locks, semaphores, preemption and a complete MPU.

Pulse and Respiration Monitor

DRLS - Force Meters and Drone Recovery System

This project was about processing raw electrical signals, bit banding I/O, utilizing timers, and ADC converters. The user experience is the heartbeat and respiration rate being displayed on a command-line interface.

IMUs, G‑force, and altitude sensors detect free‑fall and trigger parachute deployment. The parachute stabilizes descent and orients the camera to capture landing‑zone imagery. This enables rapid asset location and recovery before adversary interception.

Active Alarm Clock

Implemented a cell text line that lets me (or anyone) text a wake-up time to my bed then actuators move the bed upright to physically get me up on time.

Parking System

Installed a LiDAR sensor on the garage ceiling, paired with guidance lights on the side and back walls, to help in precise parking

Basketball Hoop Controller

The local community center used to raise the basketball hoops by having someone climb a ladder to press and hold a switch. I built a wireless controller that ties into the existing system without removing any of its original functionality.

Waver Authenticator

Using C++ and GTKMM, I developed hardware and software for a local community center to authenticate consent waivers and memberships as visitors enter the facility.

Spatial Awareness AId for The Blind

Problem -> Prototype -> Evaluation -> Evolution

I developed a spatial awareness aid for the blind for school credit. I took the pitch and initial research through vetting and focus groups with the Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. The end solution was an addition to a white cane that looked for and alerted with a correction advisory to an approaching threat.

Iterations of development saw detection systems transition to computer vision over echo sensors and design of a specialized hand grip for a distinct set of haptic responses to the user.

The project went to Shenzhen, China, to seek manufacturing options for the product.

Development is documented in a 50 page, 27,000-word document available upon request.
